Can I share a story of spiritual connection with dog? Yes, dog. Or some may say that, you know, dog spelled backwards is God. Make no mistake. I feel the same way when it comes to how we connect to our animal companions, There's a message in every experience, of course, and this one is pretty cool. I hope it resonates with you.
Yesterday, as my dog and I walked across a field on our early afternoon trek, Bridie took off to prance, run, and play. Ah, the pure joy of living! She stayed close, and responded every time I asked her to come back. She's sensitive to subtleties, and I'm constantly learning from her. In a normal voice, all I needed to say was, "Bridie, come!" She'd stop instantly to look in my direction. My next response to her was a simple "yes" to note her response as she came running to my side.
I started thinking about how simple the act of connection, initiation, and response can be - not just for me and my dog, but for everyone and the Universe! Bridie's reward was a treat and some love in that moment. She knows we have a strong connection and is always there for me. What's our reward when the Universe speaks to us and we respond?
I believe it works like this. The Universe is always sending out vibrations. This is Source energy. WE initiate the connection and awareness with our dreams, desires, and emotions. We all have these, and because they're all different we have to be selective in our emotions and desires. We get what we think about. We get what we feel and ask for. For my dog, she was living in joy, being playful and childlike, running through the field. These are happy moments when we're most receptive to Universal messages. We're always "getting" but are we open to receive? Have we fostered the true connection? Are we specific on what we want?
Next, the Universe answers by calling us to our dreams and desires . . . kind of like me calling my dog. It was subtle, direct, and specific. I always have the choice to respond or not. I can hear, see, and feel - or not. My dog could have chosen not to listen and come to my side. However, we've built a bond of trust. In her happiest moments she's "all in" when it comes to connection.
It's our trust and faith in higher vibrations that lead us to our dreams and desires. It's creating happy moments, strung together in endless connections through time and space that offers opportunities and awareness of our path in life. The reward is always there for you, and it's what you wanted.
