Physical, Spiritual, and Emotional Healing Fundamentals
Learn how your body’s intelligence works with Life Force energy, gifts and products of nature, natural healing methods and alternatives for optimal healing.
Beliefs, ideas and systems, meridians, chakras, trauma and wounds, and vibration all work together to support healing. We’ll explore what cause dis-eases as well as prominent theories of modern and ancient healing choices. Does the body’s intelligence match the means by which people apply a “cure”?
The Intelligent Body
The human body made of trillions of cells has an innate ability – a propensity – to heal itself. Structure and function come together with a life spark of energy, or Spirit, to do every life function. As a former biology teacher, I’d challenge my students in the first few days of the class year to find signs of life in a lit candle. It gives of heat, metabolizes, responds to stimuli, has a life cycle, etc. It was a fun exercise that got them thinking, I hope, about what it really means to be alive. Now, as a Licensed Spiritual Healer, my view has broadened to include even more. The ability to heal and regenerate living, healthy cells is one such aspect unique to living things.
Trees are among my favorite examples of amazing life forms. They are the ultimate transformers of energy, changing sunlight and carbon dioxide into air we breathe (oxygen), water, and energy in the form of glucose. Add minerals and we have an unending food supply through the miracle of photosynthesis. Trees are natural healers – responding to their environments if threatened by pests, fire, drought, and chemicals. Though much slower than animals, they migrate, move with the elements, and seemingly live forever. They have the capacity to heal their wounds and bypass injuries from lightening, fire, infestations, and careless people.
We assume that since humans think, they know. Most people (myself included) don’t know much about healing. How the cut in their skin, a broken bone, and surviving the flu mysteriously occur eludes our thoughtful examination. We tend to trust that healing happens on a daily, if not moment-by-moment basis . . . until something big comes along – like cancer or heart disease. Why is it that those diseases tend to ignite fear rather than trust that your body knows how to heal?
The truth is that we have to participate in healing. We have to use our knowledge and experience to correct the imbalances put upon the body from toxins, stress, and poor nutrition. We do this in order for the body to access its innate intelligence to heal. We support healing by giving the body what it needs – physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Become more like a tree, I say, for in that lesson comes the magic of healing we all have. It’s less about trying to fix something, and more about restoring to a natural state of balance and harmony.
I always tell my students that I like having the awareness of imbalance. That way, I know where and how to focus my attention for healing. In today’s lesson, I’ve included a few examples to emphasize this concept.
The ABCs of Optimal Healing
- ALTERNATIVES – How your body’s intelligence works with Life Force energy, gifts and products of nature, natural healing methods and modalities
- BALANCE and BELIEFS – Ideas and systems, meridians, chakras, trauma and wounds, vibration. The miracle of 100 trillion cells working together to thrive while interacting with the environment, resources, stress, and fear.
- CAUSES, CURES, and CHOICES – An exploration of what causes dis-eases as well as prominent theories of modern and ancient healing choices. Does the body’s intelligence match the means by which people apply a “cure”?
