Measuring Health is Easy
I overheard a person in the pool at my fitness club yesterday talk about her upcoming colonoscopy. She's a retired nurse, and looked positively joyful about it! Sorry, it's not on my list of joyful things. To me, it's a search and destroy mission that comes with huge risks. Those risks get downplayed as people sign away their concerns and submit to an invasive, sometimes painful, experience. Can you measure health proactively with prevention? What does that look like for you?
I'm letting my opinions show, and you probably get the idea that I have a different approach to health, and keeping track of personal good health.
It's also not just about me. It's also about my family - my dog, especially, because she's in my care. I have to be vigilant for her natural health!
When you know what to look for, and what to do, good health isn't a surprise - it's expected! And is ill health unexpected . . . a SURPRISE perhaps? I don't believe so. I think that people KNOW what's going on in their body way before they finally go to the doctor to get a test or diagnosis.
Let's approach measuring good health in the spirit of healthy expectations. What are you actually measuring? Doctors have their way, and mine may be a little different.
