The Challenge with Parasites
You may never know that you have parasites, but the truth is, we all do! Parasites can live undetected in your body for years, and then suddenly make an appearance in the most unpleasant way. Alternatively, you can become exposed and infected with immediate symptoms manifesting as gut issues, weakness, headaches, and malaise. Parasites aren't trying to kill you, though it may feel that way. Their purpose is to thrive and reproduce, with you as a host. Let's take a look at who these beasts are, where they might come from, and most importantly, how to help get you through your parasite challenge.
Where Parasites Come From
Parasites are the generally invisible beasts (my term) living in soil and water everywhere, seeking an opportunity to find a host to continue their life cycles. You could swallow them as eggs or larvae, eat them in improperly cooked fish or meat, splash them into your mouth from contaminated pool, lake, or river water, or get loving licks from your own pet. As a biologist, it's fascinating to me to consider the idea that humans have a high percentage of non-human organisms living inside them - mostly beneficial and in harmony. We want a healthy gut flora, for example. Even plants incorporated microorganisms once upon a time, tiny cells that had chlorophyll in them, which allowed them to become larger and produce their own food from sunlight.
Unfortunately, I've had personal experience with several parasites. Parasite infestation can also seem like something else, like lactose intolerance or food sensitivities. My last parasite challenge had me afraid to eat anything! I thought I had suddenly become sensitive to dairy and gluten, common sensitivities among many people! A small meal sent me running to the bathroom frequently, with gut churning in protest. It was oddly like the experience I had years ago with giardia, a microscopic water parasite my family and I contracted after swimming in a contaminated lake. I didn't feel sick (like one might with a fever and cramping).
Evaluate Your Parasite Challenge
You could go see your doctor to get tested for a definitive diagnosis, and subsequent medical treatment. Parasites can respond to antibiotics and cleanses. It's not my approach, since I have a few things to try that are all natural and extremely powerful. Since you're here, reading this article, you might be more interested in a less invasive, natural healing sort of way.
My first response was to aggressively increase my natural Avini products for detoxification, immune support, and parasite cleanse. (see my complete list for parasite challenge protocol below). I stopped other supplements temporarily since I knew I wasn't able to absorb them effectively. I relied more on hydration while avoiding possible irritants to the gut. My Avini Fiber helped soothe an inflamed and irritated upper and lower intestine and slowed down digestion for me so I could at least absorb some nutrients.
When I finally understood that my symptoms were from parasites and not a food sensitivity I was actually relieved. Parasites can be easier to get rid of in the short term, than restrict my diet for life! The key component in this case became plant medicine.
Understanding Plant Medicine
Plants are experts at parasite defense and control. In fact, plants produce organic chemicals that flow through their flowers. leaves, stems, and roots that can poison and deter plant parasites, or even animals that would otherwise eat them! These chemicals also have the ability to attract pollinators, as well as communicate with other plants. They're called terpenes - mono, di, and sesquiterpenes - each with their own unique properties, benefits, and medicinal value.
Essential Oils, Plant Essences
Medicinal plant essences are the aromatic, spicy, sweetly fragrant, or hot organic chemicals that give sensations and healing powers when you inhale, apply topically, or ingest them. They feel soothing, relaxing, invigorating, cleansing, or nourishing. Alone or layered in combinations, plant essences are magical gifts from nature that create a path to wholeness and healing. Scientists and pharmaceutical companies have long understood the financial benefit of isolating specific plant compounds to patent and sell. What they're missing is the benefit of the subtle components that balance medicinal properties with safety. Wintergreen, for example, contains pain-relieving chemicals, salicylates, that have been isolated and synthesized as aspirin. Plants created these chemicals as deterrents to animal predators. Medicinally potent as pain relievers, we can apply wintergreen topically without the side-effects offered by the chemical known as aspirin. The wholeness of wintergreen plant essence has benefits beyond the single pharmaceutical drug.
Anti-parasitic plant essences are often spicy and hot. Garlic, onion, clove, and cinnamon are examples. Highly aromatic compounds found in tea tree, juniper, vetiver, tarragon, thyme, and oregano have potent anti-parasitic properties, and are safe to ingest if properly prepared.
The Role of Toxicity in Parasite Control
Parasites love a body that's compromised - poor immune system, toxic with heavy metals, acidic from too much sugar and simple carbohydrates, and a diet low in fiber. In fact, parasites thrive under these conditions, grabbing nutrients from your body at will, reproducing, and making you sicker. Your health vibration lowers with heavy metal toxicity. Pain abounds in a toxic body, and the poisonous toxins produced by the parasitic invaders hurt you even more, making you tired, weak, inflamed and in pain. When the parasites leave, you're free. The fundamental practice for freedom comes from detoxification. Be aggressive. Don't stop. Stay consistent. This will be the single most important factor in parasite control.
Get Through Your Parasite Challenge
Everyone's unique. You can get through this, and get medical back-up if necessary. Here's what I did to balance my immune system, kill the beasties, and heal my gut. Links are included for easy access to products, and feel free to contact me for a consultation.
Here's the Parasite Challenge Protocol
- Cell Defender - Detoxolite removes heavy metals and toxins. This is critical since toxicity provides the perfect environment for parasites to thrive.
- ZMunity - medicinal mushrooms, specifically grown together for the highest beta-glucan content. Supporting your immune system is critical for clean-up and removal of foreign invaders.
- Nano Silver - spherical, safe nano silver is highly stable and safe to ingest. Silver kills parasites, microscopic protists, bad bacteria, viruses, and even parasitic worms. Drink it. Keep drinking our nano silver which is safe for you, but deadly to them.
- Plus Fiber - You may wonder why fiber is needed when it's obvious you're in the bathroom constantly. Plus fiber (not rough fibers out there) is soothing to an inflamed gut. It helps coat the gut lining to help you absorb water and nutrients, even while you're in a crisis.
- Plus Hydration - you must flush constantly. This is partly to encourage waste to leave, and also to stay hydrated. Dehydration leads to weakness and further medical problems.
- ParaFree from Young Living - an essential oil blend in gel caps with potent, effective medicinal-grade plant essences known to support healing the gut and killing the beasts.
Stay with the your routine for healing and get through your parasite challenge. It takes a little time, works great, has no side-effects, and causes no harm. I've used this for prevention for years, and more aggressively when needed. If you're like me, you'll want to have your tools on hand for emergencies, and not wait for the parasites to make themselves obvious.
