Reclaiming Spiritual Power

The red rocks of Sedona, Arizona stand as beacons in the high desert, emanating their calm stature as storehouses of power for the ones who seek them. Though I enjoy hiking "up", I felt it was much more important for me on this visit to stay grounded. Thus, on a recent visit to Bell Rock I made a profound connection that guided me further than I imagined. Here's a bit of my story of dis-empowerment and reclaiming my power.

Last week I visited a friend in Sedona, AZ with the intention of being with my friend, Lori (Raven's Call) doing a little hiking around the red rocks, offering a "Healing Pain" workshop, connecting to spirit in profound ways, and receiving a little healing for myself . . . a list full of engaging experiences. As always, I grow from these encounters and come away with a little more than I expected.

The drive up to Sedona from the Phoenix airport became an hour longer than usual due to an accident on the highway ahead of us. However, finally I was delivered safely to my friend who was visiting a sister-friend in a nearby town. I felt instantly at ease and at home with Rebecca who teaches shamanic ways, offers spiritual retreats, and a vision she holds for the future. In fact, I know Rebecca from previous correspondences when I purchased a few beloved crystals from her. This time, I chose a black agate that nearly jumped out at me from a table of other stones.

She immediately gifted me the stone as she remarked how just earlier that day she put it out from her personal collection. I felt an instant bond with this stone, and slept with it by my side for several nights as it blessed me with clear dreams.

While in Sedona, I did a healing session for a man who is experiencing an invasion of his personal power through his current illness. Without going into his personal details, we focused on cleansing and, in fact, purging his "stuff". As I facilitated his healing, we worked together to reclaim his power and see his condition through a new lens. Finally, we felt we were finished and I immediately took the few minutes to cleanse and detach from all energies we encountered. It wasn't enough for me, and the consequences I felt, though dis-empowering, were also a revelation for more to come.

The feeling of dis-empowerment subtly crept in. One instance after another, the cascade of "mistakes" flooded my field. To a casual observer, it might appear coincidental to have "stuff go wrong". To an empath like myself, these energies were obviously striking blows to my core. Even after a late, short walk to Bell Rock as the sun sank behind the horizon I didn't realize what was happening. I went to bed early, feeling drained and awkwardly defeated for no apparent reason. The new stone I adopted refused to be with me as I slept, and elected to keep a short distance instead.

Dreams of ceremony, balance, and rejuvenation crystallized in the night. I awoke early with a "cure" for my personal dis-empowered state. Quickly, I drew a hot bath with Epsom salts, adding frankincense essential oil to coconut oil, and infusing the bath water with it. Next, I filled a tall glass with water, adding my chakra crystal set along with a few drops of frankincense in the glass of water. Completely immersed in the sacred water, I ritually submerged, washed, and anointed myself with blessings. Finally, I drank the water held by the glass, and added the crystals to my bath water. Instantly I felt better for having taken the time, listening to my guides and dreams in order to reclaim my power.

Interestingly, the man for whom I did the healing session is also a powerful healer. He knows that his circumstances can cause such reactions as I experienced and claims I'm not alone for feeling as wiped out as I did. Yet, in a follow up session he had with another healer, he was obviously clearer, and brighter. (He says that "I'm a good healer". :))

I believe it's the foundational practices I intuitively have in place that protect me and keep me as strongly empowered as I am. I know when it's important to ground, and not climb, for example. I'm not only sensitive to crystals and dreams, but I act on the messages I receive. I select which crystals to wear each day, and choose how I feel about my experiences. Sometimes stuff goes "wrong" . . . or does it really? Choosing to be empowered also means that you recognize when you feel dis-empowered. Take the time you need to perform the rituals that help you feel balanced, nurtured, and stronger for having done so.

Finally, as I readied myself to leave Sedona, my friend remarked on our experiences of the week. You see, we built a tipi in her back yard which consumed much of our time and labor. She was almost apologetic for the time it took, but I reminded her how we created Sacred Space. That's the final lesson for reclaiming your spiritual power. Creating Sacred Space comes first from within - inside your personal practices of cleansing and balancing. Then Sacred Space is supported by the one you create in your environment.

I invite you to recognize your personal power and reclaim it. How do you move in the world? What are the words you choose to speak? How do you feel about money, relationships, and sense of purpose? It all matters. Let me help you find your way. In-person sessions, Reiki classes and Online Courses for Embodied Spirit await you. I'd love to hear from you about your personal power and your journey. Reach out to me. I'm here.
