Seeking a Cure or Real Healing

Why People Don’t Heal

Cure. It’s a little word with a big punch. It means that symptoms of disease disappear or become alleviated. A cure for cancer means that cancer goes away, right? Not really. A cure for any viral disease, auto-immune disease, or chronic disease just means that symptoms no longer feel threatening. Life goes on and people feel better for having survived the scare. However, curing cancer or any other disease may just mean a temporary reprieve. Unless real healing is the main goal, then disease may recur – often with a vengeance. So, are you seeking a cure or would you rather heal? What’s the difference, and why does this difference matter?

Real Healing

To be free from injury, to become whole again, to become sound or healthy again are all phrases associated with healing. Yet, they fail to tell you how that happens, or what’s really necessary for healing to occur. Does one become sound or free from illness when cancer is “cured” through chemical treatments? Is there freedom from injury after a broken bone is set or the wound closes? Do medications that alleviate symptoms and help you “manage” fit into the category of healing? I only ask these questions because they’re relevant to a truer version of wholeness – a goal sought by an aging population where cancer and heart disease are the top two diseases in the country. The “fix me” approach to heath isn’t really healing, but rather a management of symptoms. More importantly, it’s a giving up of personal power, and the under-estimated impact trauma, emotions, and energy have on one’s ability to truly heal. These are the real reasons why many people don’t fully heal.

On the Outside

Cuts and scrapes close up. Wounds grow new skin. The body is amazing in its ability to regenerate cells, almost to the exact replication of genetic material. However, in the process of creating new cells, important factors become overlooked to the unaware observer. The most important factors underlying the body’s ability to effectively heal include emotions and beliefs.

Personal Power

Imagine that you have a vessel of energy. Visualize your vessel filled to the brim with glowing goodness. The vessel continuously fills from an endless fountain directly above it, so that as energy is used, it’s always replenished. Note the characteristics of the vessel. It’s beautiful, solid, and adorned with colors and all sorts of attractive features. In its most perfect state, the vessel and its energy contents are not only representative of personal power, but also who you are as a perfect, whole, healthy spiritual being. Perfect form, perfect energy, and endless fulfillment of personal energy and power define spiritual wholeness, health, prosperity, and joy. Dipping into the fountain is easy, because it’s always being refilled from its source. But that’s not the whole story.

Let’s say your vessel is lovely as you imagined, but somewhat fragile. In fact, there are cracks and broken pieces where the energy seems to be leaking. How could damage to your vessel have happened, and could it be repaired? Damage to the vessel – the physical form – seems inevitable. It’s the result of emotional strain, avoidance, stress, lack, trauma, and injury that weighs heavily on the soul. Burying these events deep in the mind may offer a temporary fix (thanks to the brain and ego, always trying to protect you). Ultimately, damage manifests as dis-ease. If you’re sensitive to your energy and acknowledge the stressors which cause disease, you may take the opportunity to deal with them as they arise. However, more often than not, emotional stress, toxicity, and dis-empowerment accumulate, draining your vessel of life force.

Emotions and Beliefs as Factors for Healing

Try these exercises as they simply illustrate the impact of emotions and beliefs on the body. Have paper and pen handy.

First, take your time to really imagine the following emotions, then write your name after you physically feel them:

  • peace or bliss
  • anger or frustration
  • joy
  • grief

You may notice a difference in the quality of your signature, the size of the letters, and the thickness of the strokes. Your writing is the physical expression of the emotions you’re feeling. Relate this exercise to how your cells might repair damage, injury or disease. Uplifting and positive emotions create a flow that allows for more perfect expression of your healthy cells, while lower vibratory emotions create confusion, tension, and imperfection as cells replicate. Your emotions and your beliefs become your biology to express either health and healing, or the opposite – degradation, disease, and aging.

For the second exercise, look in the mirror and observe your facial expressions. Notice the shape of your eyes and mouth. Notice the wrinkles on your forehead, around your eyes, and near your mouth. Say each of the following beliefs out loud as if you’re an actor in a role, trying to express the true nature of each statement. Fill in the blank with a personal reason for that belief.

  • I am so happy because _____
  • I am afraid because _____
  • I love to _____
  • I am most at peace when _____

Did you notice a difference in your facial features or body language with each belief? What and how you believe manifests physically as health or dis-ease. Therefore, it’s important to notice how your beliefs affect you and make conscious changes toward ease and grace for true healing.

Choosing to Heal

Emotions and beliefs deeply embed themselves in every cell of the body – not just in the brain. Every emotion creates an imprint or a “memory” for the cells to use as templates. How healthy would you like your cells to be? Here’s where you can actively change your biology – how your cells form – to truly heal at the deepest level. This is Spiritual Energy Healing – a shift in vibratory frequencies to facilitate healing at the deepest level.

How Important is Detox?

I heard an interesting statement recently from a well-respected naturopathic doctor in my sphere. He said it’s pointless to begin any course of treatment before detoxification is accomplished. That’s my philosophy, too, and has been for many years. heavy metals, flame retardants, plastics, pesticides, benzene, and chemicals in the home and environment interfere with every aspect of cell function, injury repair, immunity, and general wellbeing. Removing these toxins, then, are critical to supporting the health and vitality of the body for healing.

Since 2006 I’ve actively used a mineral as an oral chelator, which has not only proven to be effective, but also life-saving! I don’t say this lightly. The year 2006 brought many challenges for me. My beautiful yellow lab, Ginger, who was also diabetic, was diagnosed with hemangiosarcoma – a blood cancer. We almost lost her the day her spleen ruptured. However, we acted quickly and following surgery worked aggressively to detoxify her and get ahead of her symptoms. Without the surgery, we would have surely lost her. However, given no hope from the medical professionals, we chose to follow a detoxification protocol while supporting her immune system. It worked, and we enjoyed Ginger’s company (without cancer) for a long time after that.

In Ginger’s case, detoxification set the foundation for healthy cells to take over. That was in 2006. Now, more than ten years later, it’s still the beginning protocol I use for myself as well as my clients. In addition, please note that though I’m calling what I do a protocol, it’s really a lifestyle. Choosing to incorporate detoxification and immune support every day means that we may never have to face difficult disease challenges such as cancer. Now, I’m greatly encouraged with additional healing resources that aid in detoxification and immune support. Here are a few Nutritional Supplements I use regularly:

Zeolite, very specifically Natural Cellular Defense, is my number one choice. Heavy metals are severely overlooked as a cause of everything from cancer to auto-immune diseases. NCD2 is the best detoxifier for inorganic substances such as heavy metals and radiation.

Vital minerals in crystalloid form (the tiniest), have a profound detoxification effect. These minerals (available for both humans and canines from Valentus as Prevail Max) seep into the bloodstream in less than a minute when sprayed directly into the mouth. The effects can be seen microscopically almost immediately as blood cells “plump” and begin to make circulation more effective. It’s a superior detoxifier and an essential addition to a zeolite detox.

Essential Oils, again – very specifically – Young Living oils, complete the detoxification profile. Use specific citrus oils, for example, to help cleanse the blood and liver. Select Multigreens for the additional detoxification effects of chlorophyll combined with essential oils.

Cancer Detox Protocol for Humans and Dogs

  • Detoxification, as I mentioned earlier, may be the most overlooked aspect of a healing protocol – one that is really a lifestyle of health and wellness. Though supplements I use are great for detoxification, it’s more than just removing toxins that has to be considered. Look for ways to eliminate toxins from the diet, home environment, products you use regularly, vaccinations, and other medications and treatments.
  • Support a healthy body with whole, clean, minimally processed foods. Eliminate carbohydrates, preservatives, and synthetic additives.
  • Detoxify the emotions. Have a positive environment and outlook on healing. Remove emotional obstacles that prevent optimal results.

Nitric Oxide and Healing

Self-healing Magic Built Into Your Body

We all know that the human body has the innate ability to heal itself. What seems to puzzle us is HOW that happens and learning what we can do to promote natural healing as well as staying healthy throughout all our challenges. Though it’s usually a good idea to have the support of your doctor for tests and expert medical information, I believe that’s a tiny fraction of the healing process.  Perhaps you’re like me and would rather support the body’s self-healing magic. If so, you’ll be interested to learn about nitric oxide, what it does, and what we can do on our own to use nitric oxide to promote healing.

A tiny molecule written chemically as NO, nitric oxide, was considered as “Molecule of the Year” in 1992 when Nobel prize winners, Robert F. Furchgott, PhD, Louis J. Ignarro, PhD, and Ferid Murad, MD, PhD published their research. Nitric oxide signals the cardiovascular and nervous systems to relax – an important function in view of hypertension, and stress. Clinically, nitric oxide is just coming into view as a gentle way to support health and healing – wherever blood flow is important.

What does Nitric Oxide do?

Nitric oxide stimulates blood vessels, muscles, and cells to relax. Take a deep breath now. Notice how tense you feel as you inhale, and perhaps hold your breath for a second. Now exhale completely. As you exhale, feel your shoulders, back, and body relax. Even your mind “lets go” for a moment. The feeling you have upon exhalation is similar to the cell’s experience as it produces, then releases, nitric oxide. When nitric oxide is present in small amounts, surrounding cells respond. In addition, nitric oxide becomes complexed to glutathione, hemoglobin and other proteins – then dissociated back to nitric oxide. As a result, nitric oxide benefits may be felt throughout the body as it’s easily transported as complex molecules.(1)

Research shows that nitric oxide affects the immune system, encouraging the germ-eating white blood cells to become active. Also, the cardiovascular system responds to the presence of nitric oxide by dilating blood vessels, thus promoting increased blood flow and reduced blood pressure (2). In addition, as an anti-inflammatory compound, research shows benefits as a pain-reliever and free-radical scavenger (preventing cell damage and aging). Bone and joint health as well as recovery from injury are supported with nitric oxide. Memory improvement, learning, and memory tasks benefit from the presence of nitric oxide (3).

Cells can, in fact, produce their own nitric oxide under the right circumstances. However, due to free-radical damage, the benefits of nitric oxide seem dwarfed to the task of keeping up. Your intention for healing then becomes more important as you focus on the WHOLE body, rather than on just one molecule, thing, practice, supplement, or modality. Fortunately, when you begin healing the WHOLE, you also support the tiny aspects of healing we take for granted – like nitric oxide production. You can promote the production of nitric oxide in your own body very simply. Here’s how.

How the Body Makes Nitric Oxide

Vibration holds the key to making and transporting nitric oxide within the body. Vibration exists everywhere as sound, movement, light, water, nutrients, plants and animals, etc. Therefore, supplements high in antioxidants have important value in helping to create nitric oxide. So does connecting to nature, like listening to crickets, birds, and trees blowing in the breeze, or waves lapping on the shore. Choose all of the “right” vibrations that help bring that feeling of relaxation – like the exhale we practiced early in the article.

Tuning forks may be one of the easiest ways to directly stimulate the production of nitrix oxide in the body. In particular, the 528 Hz tuning fork as an auditory tuner, or body tuners (weighted tuners that carry vibrations down the stem) have tremendous benefit. Whether you’re listening to the healing frequencies, or feeling the vibration of tuning forks placed directly on the body, nitric oxide produced by the cells begins its healing magic.

Heart Wisdom

SNHpodsqWhen we think of “wisdom”, our thoughts often go directly to “intelligence” – something that can be measured to indicate how “smart” a person is. On paper, intelligence is a number that tries to represent cognitive thinking abilities, reasoning skills, analytical and linear processes usually associated with the left brain. In school we learned how the brain controls all body functions, sort of like a conductor for the body. The brain receives information from the environment through the senses and develops a belief system – like grooves of a record within the brain. It’s easy to get “stuck” with behavior patterns repeating themselves without conscious thought.

Though there is much we don’t understand about the brain, we might even say that there is even MUCH MORE we don’t understand about the heart. The heart and its misunderstood intelligence has a lot to offer us for living consciously, acting intuitively, and being more effective in the world in all our roles – as parents, teachers, workers, leaders, care-givers, etc.

What Has the Brain Made the Heart Forget?

Wisdom that comes from the heart was pushed aside as the brain developed in-utero and became more active. The brain is the house of EGO, which helps ensure our survival early in life. Our brain, hungry for learning all the motor skills, intellectual challenges, and thought processes, dismisses the more feminine aspect of our development – our intuition. When we explore the intuitive aspect of survival, growth, spirituality, and wisdom, we gain a broader sense of not only who we are, but where we fit in the Universe. We become a little more in-tune with nature, harmonizing with the intention of advancement as spiritual beings. The heart remembers who we are as individuals and as a species.

Your Aura Has a Body

Your Aura Has a Body (1)Your aura, the energy field that surrounds you, can be seen and felt by many intuitive people. You can also probably tell by how you personally feel if your energy feels low, stuck, lacking clarity and purpose, unwell, or missing vitality. So here’s the question I pose to you. Does your body, in its current physical state, create the aura? In other words, is your aura determined by how you feel? OR . . . is it the other way around? Does your energy body determine your physical state?

Research and human experiences help provide some of the answers. What sometimes happens after we have traumatic experiences such as divorce or death of a loved one, injuries and accidents, surgeries, “bad” news, and other “negative” situations? The body remembers these experiences and holds these memories within the cells. What we sometimes see is dis-ease AFTER trauma – physical manifestation AFTER emotional experiences.

Dr. Candace Pert, author of Molecules of Emotion, says, “We’re not just little hunks of meat. We’re vibrating like a tuning fork — we send out a vibration to other people. We broadcast and receive. Thus the emotions orchestrate the interactions among all our organs and systems to control that. . . . “As our feelings change, this mixture of peptides travels throughout your body and your brain. And they’re literally changing the chemistry of every cell in your body.”

Your Aura Has a Body is a 2 1/2 hour workshop which brings together instruction and experiences to develop the concept that we are energy bodies experiencing a vibration that manifests in physical form.

  • How can we use our senses to detect fluctuations, imbalances, and strengths in our aura.
  • How can working with the aura alter and improve our well being?
  • How can we work with energy tools to enhance our energy bodies?

YOUR AURA HAS A BODY is a wonderful introduction to using energy tools for clearing, protecting, and balancing the body. Check my calendar for upcoming events and classes.

Usui Reiki 1 & 2 Together

Reiki, the Japanese method of healing and relaxation, has been present in its current form for many years. Yet, energy healing modalities are not limited to Reiki. There is, in fact, no limit to the possibilities of accessing Reiki energy as a healing modality. The limits I have found in working with Reiki for many years can be summarized with three vital points:

  1. Delay in action – Students who become attuned to Reiki level 1 sometimes become “stalled” in their progress. Life happens. People move away, have a shortage of funds, find no time, or any number of reasons to delay continuing their practice. After a while, the first Reiki attunement seems too far away to continue practicing.
  2. Lack of training – One of the most important aspects of learning Reiki is to actually find the time to practice it. Yet, some students lack proper training on energy techniques that promote confidence and competence.
  3. Lack of community support – Receiving a Reiki attunement is wonderful, but it’s just the beginning. Once the energy door is opened, it’s important to connect with like-minded people. We’re not alone, yet sometimes our awakening makes us feel separate, different, and maybe a little strange.
  4. Lack of developing sensitivity – In order to make Reiki easier to teach and use, early Reiki teachers developed a system of hand positions that offered good results. However, Usui initially intended for Reiki hand placements to be intuitive and encouraged the use of Byosen scanning as well as other intuitive techniques.

As a result, our Reiki classes take the best of all Reiki trainings. We focus on combining the Reiki experiences of Reiki 1 & 2 together into a full weekend class. There’s no waiting to continue your training.

Seamlessly, we weave together the energy concepts of Reiki fundamentals with exercises that promote confidence and competence. You’ll receive more than an attunement. You’ll have training on how to use Reiki immediately and integrate Reiki into daily practice. Reiki is a lifestyle. We’ll show you how it’s done, effortlessly.

Our Reiki community extends in many ways. We have a secret facebook group for Reiki students and continuing education experiences and workshops that help connect you to a greater grid – humanity.

We focus on the intuitive nature of Reiki. In fact, it’s a priority. We know that your awakening is happening, and you want to get started in the best possible way. We have tools to support you on your journey – The Healer’s Journey free webinar, Sensory Intuition Workshops, sound healing classes, and our own unique advanced training for Illuminated Healers.

Why do we teach Reiki 1 & 2 classes together? You’re ready for it. The world needs you. Step into your power as an intuitive healer. Check our calendar for the next available classes.

What Is Vibrational Medicine?

Vibrational medicine may be on the periphery now of how people seek health and healing. However, mounting evidence suggests there is a shift in awareness of a kinder way to be healthy, one that is more harmonious to the body. Explore the concepts of vibration in this continuing webinar series of The Healer’s Journey.

The Healer’s Journey Clear, Cleanse, Clarity

The Healer’s Journey webinar learning series continues with tools for self-healing. How do you clear energies from yourself and your personal space? Is it possible to cleanse your aura, as cleanse your body of toxins? What “stuff” in your life brings you joy? How do you decide to let go of some things, and keep others?

These questions, and more, are addressed in The Healer’s Journey #9 – Clear, Cleanse, Clarity.
